Offering our customers the highest quality at all times is an elementary component of the hansgrohe corporate philosophy. For this reason, we offer first-time end customers (as defined below) a voluntary manufacturer's warranty of five years on our products, irrespective of any claims they may have against their vendor. We grant first-time end customers a voluntary manufacturer's warranty of two years on certain hansgrohe products with electronic components purchased after 01 January 2020. Prerequisites and details of this voluntary manufacturer's warranty can be found in the following warranty conditions.

nude hole SE, Auestraße 5-9, 77761 Schiltach ("hansgrohe") grants a manufacturer's warranty for hansgrohe products to first end customers. This voluntary manufacturer's warranty applies in addition to the legal rights to which the first end customer is entitled vis-à-vis its seller. Any further claims of the first end customer against hansgrohe (e.g. due to any product liability) also remain unaffected (see point VII below).

"First end customer" is the person who purchased the hansgrohe product as the first consumer directly from hansgrohe or a hansgrohe sales partner (in particular sanitation company, specialist dealer, DIY store). A "consumer" within the meaning of this manufacturer's warranty is any natural person who has purchased the hansgrohe product for private use and not to use it within the scope of their commercial or independent professional activity (e.g. to resell it or install it in the home of a third party).

This manufacturer's warranty only applies to the first end customer and is not transferable. In the event of a resale of the hansgrohe product by the first end customer, the warranty is therefore not transferred to the purchaser, regardless of whether the purchaser is also a consumer.

a. This warranty applies to all nude hole products not listed under II b. for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original customer, but for a maximum of 6 years after manufacture. The warranty period is not extended due to the provision of services under this warranty, in particular not in the event of repair or replacement. hansgrohe grants the first-time customer for products with electronic components which fall under b. The warranty period is not extended due to the provision of services within the scope of this manufacturer's warranty, in particular not in the case of repair or replacement. In these cases, the warranty period shall not start anew. This shall neither constitute a new warranty nor shall it restart the warranty period.
Claims for compensation for consequential damage or for product liability shall only exist in accordance with the mandatory statutory provisions.
This manufacturer's warranty only applies to first-time end customers who have purchased the product in question in a country in which hansgrohe is represented by its own sales company or through a sales partner.

The assertion of claims from this warranty requires written notification of the defect by the original end customer to hansgrohe or the hansgrohe sales partner from whom the hansgrohe product was purchased. This notification of defect must be made within a preclusion period of two months from the time at which the first end customer recognised or should have recognised the defect of the hansgrohe product, and in any case before the expiry of the warranty period. It is the responsibility of the first end customer to prove that the warranty period has not yet expired; this proof can be provided in particular by presenting the purchase receipt for the hansgrohe product.
The written defect notification must contain:

  • a detailed error description,
  • the name and address of the first end customer and
  • proof that and when the customer purchased the hansgrohe product as the first end customer, e.g. proof of purchase with date of purchase, trade name of the hansgrohe sales partner as well as product designation and/or hansgrohe article number.

The written defect notification shall be sent by email to service@hansgrohe.com or via the contact form to be found at https://www.hansgrohe.de/contact. After receiving written notification of the fault, hansgrohe will contact the sender within 3 working days. The product may not be removed before the expiry of this period and any instructions to the contrary. This does not apply if significant damage is to be expected.
The warranty claim expires upon expiry of the warranty period. If a claim has been asserted within the warranty period in compliance with the above requirements, but the warranty service owed has not yet been provided by hansgrohe, the statute of limitations is suspended until the service has been provided.​​​​​​​

The prerequisite for making a claim under this guarantee is the professional installation of the hansgrohe product concerned in accordance with the hansgrohe installation instructions and the recognised rules of technology (e.g. by a master craftsman or an authorised specialist company) as well as the use of the respective hansgrohe product in accordance with the hansgrohe instructions for use and installation. This includes, but is not limited to, depending on the product, that the water supply pipes have been properly inspected in accordance with the applicable standards prior to the product installation or after construction work, that installations comply with the diagrams enclosed with the hansgrohe product and that the working pressure in the water network has been checked for compliance with the technical regulations. 

If hansgrohe can prove or if there is an objectively justified suspicion that these prerequisites are not fulfilled, hansgrohe can refuse to provide warranty service unless the first end customer proves that the aforementioned prerequisites are fulfilled.

All instructions for use and installation as well as any other technical instructions are included with every hansgrohe product and are available at www.hansgrohe.de.

This manufacturer's warranty does not justify any claims for
  • commercial or self-employed professional use of the hansgrohe product;
  • Missing fault indication and early removal of the defective hansgrohe product without prior appraisal or instruction by hansgrohe (see point III)
  • .
  • Non-compliance with the instructions for use and installation issued or available at www.hansgrohe.de as well as any safety precautions;
  • Improper maintenance or repair of the hansgrohe product, in particular repair or maintenance using other than original hansgrohe spare parts;
  • inappropriate installation or commissioning;
  • use of the hansgrohe product that does not correspond to its intended or recommended purpose or is otherwise improper or abusive (including commissioning with liquids other than pure drinking water);
  • Product modifications, in particular installation, removal or replacement of individual parts or components of the hansgrohe product or
  • .
  • hansgrohe products whose fabrication/serial number or date of manufacture on the product has been removed, altered or made unrecognisable.

This manufacturer's warranty does not cover:
  • Product defects caused by transport, installation or external influences (impact, shock, fall);
  • Product defects or damage caused by the seller, installer or third parties;
  • Product defects that are attributable to normal wear and tear (e.g. scratches, abrasion) or intentional damage (in the event of negligent damage, contributory negligence will be taken into account);
  • Wear parts, e.g. gaskets, hoses, etc.;
  • Consumables, such as batteries, filters or aerators;
  • Breakage of fragile parts such as glass, glass lamps, mirrors, etc.;
  • Minor deviations of the hansgrohe product from the target condition that have no influence on the utility value of the hansgrohe product;
  • Dirt accumulation, water leakage, especially hot water leakage, damage due to limescale deposits, ice or other environmental influences (e.g. humidity, heat), operating or handling errors, aggressive environmental influences, chemicals, cleaning agents, excess/vacuum pressure or excess/vacuum voltage on the pipe;
  • Damage caused by force majeure or natural disasters, in particular, but not limited to, flooding, lightning, fire, frost or fluctuations in the power supply;
  • Consequences of deficiencies and
  • Sample or exhibition products, 2nd choice products and the like.

In the event of a warranty claim in accordance with section I.-IV. IV. hansgrohe provides the manufacturer's warranty in that hansgrohe, at its own discretion and in accordance with the following regulations, 1) repairs the affected hansgrohe product or supplies the necessary replacement parts, 2) replaces the product or 3) refunds the purchase price to the first end customer.

1) Repair
The rule is that the original end customer has the defective hansgrohe product repaired on site by a specialist technician with the prior consent of hansgrohe. In this case, the manufacturer's warranty includes the free delivery of the necessary replacement parts. If hansgrohe decides by written agreement to carry out the repair itself, hansgrohe will bear the costs incurred for spare parts, installation and its own labour costs as well as any expenses for the transport or dispatch of the hansgrohe product. The original end customer must make the defective hansgrohe product accessible.

2) Replacement
In the event of replacement, the defective hansgrohe product will be replaced free of charge with a new hansgrohe product of the same type, same quality and same type. If the affected hansgrohe product is no longer manufactured at the time of the error notification, hansgrohe is entitled to supply a comparable replacement product. Transport or shipment to and from hansgrohe or the hansgrohe sales partner as well as any measures in connection with the replacement of the hansgrohe product (including removal and reinstallation) may only be carried out with the prior consent of hansgrohe. If hansgrohe agrees to the intended measure, hansgrohe will bear the costs incurred in carrying out the measure. The first end customer is obliged to collect the new hansgrohe product himself/herself from the nearest hansgrohe sales partner unless otherwise agreed. The replaced hansgrohe product becomes the property of hansgrohe upon removal.

3) Return of purchase price
If hansgrohe chooses to refund the purchase price and confirms this in writing, the first end customer returns the defective hansgrohe product and hansgrohe refunds the purchase price paid. With the refund of the purchase price, ownership of the defective hansgrohe product is transferred to hansgrohe.

If the customer reports a defect as a warranty case, but the requirements for a warranty service under this manufacturer's warranty are not met, the costs incurred by shipping or transporting the product are to be borne by the first end customer. In addition, the first end customer must bear the costs, including any labour costs, incurred by hansgrohe for any removal or inspection or transport of the product.
If the original end customer nevertheless wishes to have the repair carried out after being informed that the warranty does not apply and of the probable costs arising from the repair, he/she must bear the costs for the spare parts and the labour costs himself/herself.
If the hansgrohe product did not already have the defect complained of at the time of delivery, hansgrohe will decide on a case-by-case basis whether the fault should be rectified as a gesture of goodwill. In this case, the original end customer does not have a legal claim to rectification of the fault.

The personal data provided by the first customer will be collected and used in the event of an enquiry within the scope of the manufacturer's warranty on the basis of statutory powers and in accordance with our information on data protection (https://www.hansgrohe.de/datenschutz).

In addition to the rights arising from this voluntary manufacturer's warranty, the first end customer is entitled to the statutory rights without restriction.
This manufacturer's warranty does not affect, in particular, the statutory or contractual rights (in particular warranty rights) that the first end customer may have against the hansgrohe sales partner from whom he purchased the hansgrohe product.
The legal rights of the first end customer against hansgrohe are also neither limited nor replaced by the warranty. This applies in particular to mandatory statutory liability provisions according to the Product Liability Act or any tortious liability of hansgrohe.
The continued existence of the rights of the first end customer applies irrespective of the existence of a warranty case and the claiming of the warranty by the first end customer.
